IExif can read out Exif/GPS/IPTC data of image files in Windows Explorer, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozillar Firefox, and ACDSee. But it can't support Adobe Photoshop.

Is there a method to add gps data from a track log file ?
I use a Magellan GPS, and I can export to a cvs or Excel file.

Now PowerExif only alows you add or modify the GPS data for photos manually. Of course, you can write GPS data of some location into photos in batch mode.

The help file does not open. How do I add exif tags to my jpeg files?
Administrator
2006-08-06 13:36
You can open the folder "C:\Program Files\Opanda\PowerExif 1.2\help" to find the help file "index-en-US.htm", if you can't, please download the attached help file and save it into the help folder.
If you want to add exif tags to jpeg file, just open the one of them, and click the "add" button on the top of exif list in PowerExif Std, then select the exif tags you need and add them and modify the relevant value, save it in the end.
After finished modification of one jpeg file, repeat the above operation one by one until the job has been done.

Webmaster
2006-08-06 05:33
Take a jpeg file by D70/D200, import it into your PC and load it in IExif, you will find a tag named "Total number of shutter releases for camera", the value is the number you want to know.

Hello there, Folowing purchase of digital film, I have now downloaded a copy of Opanda photofilter. The self extraction wizard has loaded to my photoshop filters file however this appears to be a stand alone program, as digital film is. Could you please clarify. Is photo filter a stand alone program?
Administrator

Yes, you are right. PhotoFilter is a stand alone program.

Can I change 'DateTime'(Exif name) in the batch mode?
Thanks in advance,
Govert Vissers
webmaster
2006-05-19 10:07
Yes, you can. You can appoint one DateTime for a batch of images by PowerExif in seconds in the batch mode just like dealing with other Exif tags. For example, you can import the date value "May 01, 2006" into date tag of all images which you want to deal with.

We don't know which type RAW files took by Panasonic FZ30 is, but you can have a try. If DF can't load it, just convert them into JPEG or TIFF format.

Refer to the below post
Keyword Tags -- nigel 2006-03-26 19:12REPLY I have the Trial Version of this Product. If I purchase the Full Version will the Keyword Tags that can be added and shown as Metadata in Adobe CS2 be read in the exif files if I purchase one of the full versions? Administrator 2006-03-27 04:46 PowerExif support EXIF standard. All applications which also support EXIF standard can read out the EXIF data in images edited by PowerExif. You can try it before order.
You have not answered this question mearly a mesh of words to make it sound like you have answered it, I have tried your software and for the life of me cannot locate the keyword tag, this is the only reason I am looking at an EXIF editor. Does your product support this! if it does not I suggest you reconsider claiming that it is the best EXIF editor on the maket.
Webmaster
2006-05-22 10:56
To be precise, the tag "Keyword" belongs to IPTC not Exif. PowerExif is just an Exif editor.
As an important information, Exif standard is used widely more than IPTC. So I suggest you can think about the tags "Image Description" or "Caption" or "User Comment" instead of Keyword, because they are members of Exif standard.
Thank you for your question!

IExif can read out the total number of shutter release only for Nikon D70/D70s, D50, D2X, D2H and later.
Rod

I have a D2h, and I don't see where they are shown.............
Can you give a clue where to look??
Admin
2005-07-26 10:13
Take a photo with jpeg format by your D2H and open it in IExif. The camera actuation number is in the field of Maker Notes.
nikoncmk
2005-07-27 03:02
Im looking next to the "maker note" and that does not seem to be the correct number of actuations. I'm looking at photos i took in sequence and numbers dont line up.

Please be sure that the image (Jpeg file) is not edited by Photoshop, ACDSee etc. Or, the Exif data will be destroyed partly or fully.

You say that the software can read frame count data of D70/D70s, D50, D2X, D2H and later. Well... Nikon D200 is 'later' as it was released 12.2005. I am trying to see the frame count but can't find it either. This is a very important option, please help.

Please check the shutter actuation of this image took by Nikon D200, you can find the "Total Number of Shutter Releases for Camera" is 137.

ExpandFilm tag incorrect?
--
Richard
2006-04-16 14:30
Hi It looks to me as though the insertion of the extension tag AFC2 (Expand Film) is being done incorrectly in TIFF files. As far as I can see looking at the file data, each of these tags has a 12 byte header with the last 4 bytes specifying the offset address to the actual data. For ACF1 tag this is correct -see attached file where the offset (1E8) points to "50mm sum. etc". However in the ACF2 tag the last four bytes contain "FP4" which is the actual data I entered for that tag
This is actually quite important for me as I'm about to start cataloging 10,000 negative scans and would dearly like to use the batch process to insert this EXIF data
Don't worry about it, it is correct and keep to TIFF format's rule. The rule is that the end 4 bytes stores the real value while the length of value of some tag is shorter than 4 bytes. Or, it will be a pointer of value.
Set your heart at rest to keep on your work!
Thank you.

Is IExif a true editor
--
M Bush
2006-04-19 05:52
Can it display all EXIF and IPTC fields of data or just a limited number of fields?
Are "Date photo taken", "Description", and "keywords" available to edit?
Can it modify, add, delete any data field in EXIF and IPTC fields and inbed or attach the information back into the graphic file?
Administrator
2006-04-21 01:47
IExif is an EXIF/GPS/IPTC extractor, it can display all EXIF and IPTC fields of data from images.
Our another product named PowerExif Editor, can edit all standard EXIF tags in image files.
It is a data editor for EXIF, not for IPTC. So it can edit "Date photo taken" & "Description" fields, the "keywords" field is a tag of IPTC, so PowerExif don't support it, but you can write keywords of images in "comment" field, the "comment" field is a standard EXIF tag.
