Look at the original image (Jpeg or Tiff format) exported straightly from the camera. You can find the ISO valuess in Maker Note.
Photoshop will cancel non-standard part of EXIF information in image. You can try this tool -- EXIF MAKER 2.21, a part of DigitalFilm 1.65, to modify EXIF data in the image.

Do you think opanada IEXif could provide the feature I describe on my blog at http://dreams2text.blogspot.com titled "Right Click an Image say = 'Go There'". I dont think it would be much effort for Opanda to implement it and general browser users would find it to be a cool feature.

We are going to release IExif V2.2, it will support the feature.

Lens info

JRS
2005-07-07 02:47
I was recently introduced to Iexif and really like it. One thing I see missing, for me at least, is infor on the lens focal length. For example, you may show that the shot FL was 50mm or 59mm....it would be helpful to know if this was a 17-85mm, 28-135mm, or, in the case of the 50mm shot, just a 50mm lens.
Is this available, but I need to do something to get at it? If not can it be added? Or do I need to get the fee PowerEXIF?
Thanks...JOHN

PowerExif supports opanda extend tags of EXIF for professional photography, of course, IExif also support the features:
Expand Lens
Expand Film
Expand Filter Lens
Expand Scanner
Expand Flash Lamp

Tony, I am not sure what these "expanded" exif info are. Are these info from the camera, i.e Makernotes, or are these user added tags.
What I am looking for is the lens info which is put, by Canon at least, in the jpeg.
Example from ExifReader: "Focal length of lens : 10-22(mm)"
Thanks again...John
Tony
2005-07-08 15:37
Standard Exif only records focal length tag without other information of the lens model. If you hope to see what the lens is in IExif, for example, "28-135MM IS/F3.5-5.6" etc, you have to add it in Exif tag by PowerExif Editor.
The tags is extended by Opanda specially for photography, it isn't a part of makernote field, it fits Exif standard and can be read out by IExif or other exif readers.
Otherwise, a few DSLR, for example Nikon D70 +, can record the following information in MakerNote:
Lens Type = Nikon D series Lens Lens Min/Max Focal Length, Max Aperture = 550/10, 2000/10, 40/10, 56/10
But Canon don't support it.

Tony, I am not sure I understood your reply. I wasn't sure if you were saying the info was not in the Canon makerNotes or that you coul/would not interpret them.
Many other Exif "readers" can interpret the Canon info and post the len TYPE info. One is ExifReader I mentioned above. Another which can do it is IrfanView.
Unfortunately, none of these work in the browser.
I would really apprciate if you could add this capability. I am sure people such as Irfan or Chris Breeze (Breezebrowser) could point you to the "translation".

When I look at your sample image and right click, I don't get anything. I am on AOL. Is your program not usable with AOL? I had a problem like this with another EXIF viewer also. After signing on to AOL I went into IE to try it there, but had the same problem.
Thanks so much, Susan

Tony,
I downloaded your program. I see now that the problem is AOL. If I go to a site through IE, it now works. I must dump AOL one of these days. Thanks for your time, Susan
Creation Date

Nigel

i have a number of JPEG files that have been scanned onto disc and the (limited) Exif information contains that date as the date of creation. when this is changed in the trial version the date is changed in the Exif info file but the small view continues to show the old date as does the saved info when looked at elswhere.
Is this true of the full version of the software?

What is meaning of "the small view"? Do you drive at the thumbnail? I cannot understand your mind correctly. Please clearly write down your thought.

Hello I tried to install the IExif 2.2 for Firefox, but was unable to. Had to restore my system to get the browser to work again. I have installed IExif 2.2 and it works fine, I am using Firefox 1.0.6. Any help will be appreciated.

I have update firefox to 1.0.6 in my system and it's well to run IExif in it. You can try to uninstall IExif from your OS totally and re-install it.

When I put the code in and press the [SUMIT] button, the program activates and works fine. Problem is - when I click out the program and come back to it later, the code is missing and I have to re-submit it again evertime I want to use the program. Now why is that? What can I do about it?

I have the exact same problem. Did you find a solution?
Rob

I have not found a solution. Does Opanda have any suggestions?
L.W.
2005-08-28 23:52
Are you using Microsoft Internet Explorer? Which version?
There is obviously a conflict between the browser and IExif about where to find the temporary internet files. They are storing resp. looking in different folders.
Yours L.W.

Can IEXIF 2 display the ISO value for Nikon D70 photos?
Tony

Yes, of course it can show the ISO value for Nikon D70 photos, but you have to be sure that the EXIF data is full. The ISO value is located in the Maker Note field.

Does your program list the number of photos taken with Canon EOS cameras?
I downloaded and installed the program, but no reference to the number of shutter actuations appears in any of my Canon EOS-10D EXIF files.

Opanda IExif can only list the number of photos taken with Nikon D2X, D2H, D70(s), D50 and later.

"Opanda IExif can only list the number of photos taken with Nikon D2X, D2H, D70(s), D50 and later."
OK.
Are there any plans to include that feature for Canon DSLRs also in a future version?
And if not, why not?

Iexif for Firefox 1.4?

How about an update, guys? I used this on Explorer all the time, but it won't work with the latest version of Firefox.....
Tony
2005-10-01 09:14
Please uninstall the extension of IExif for Firefox, then download the new extension file(XPI) and install it in Firefox 1.4. Final, restart firefox and use IExif in it.
Well, I've done that, repeatedly. No go. Pretty sure I'm not doing something stupid. Have YOU tried IExif in the latest Firefox version?
I get asked if I want to install Opanda IExif, I select yes - it shows up in the Extensions list unter "Tools" in the browser window, yet when I try to use it, I get a popup saying "cant find Opanda IExif extension"
Showing as Opanda IExif 2.25 in extensions window. If I try to manually past the .xpi extension in the firefox directory, it disappears after I select "install".
IExif is only for JPEG, IExifPro is for JPEG and TIFF.

I'm trying to remove the exif data from the photos...such as shutter speed, aperture, metering mode etc. I used the batch remove but the exif data still shows on Photoshop CS. It does not appear in ACDSee. How do I remove the exif so it does not appear in CS?
Thanks
